The Watch list #1 ~ Nerve – Young Sheldon and To the bone

Watch list 1

Bored and no idea what to watch? Check out my top recommendations.

A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of “watchers.” Nerve is one of those movies that you can watch without thinking. It is a unique story line that can be placed in our current society. I always call these movies a sunday movie that you can watch while eating a load of popcorn. I love how it starts lighthearted and turns darker and darker. It is a fast paced movie that is clever made, it does not hit my top 10 favorites but fun enough to watch.

Young Sheldon

The series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and follows the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas. It has the same humor as The Big Bang Theory but in my option this tv series tugs your heartstrings more. Because it is narrated at times, you hear the thoughts of young Sheldon and understand him more. I think it is a great tv show for fans of The Big Bang Theory yet you don’t have to know that show to love this one. It is a stand alone series that introduces the character in a complete new way. Each episode shows a new struggle and how Sheldon overcomes it with the help of familie and I think that that fact makes it a perfect show for all ages.

To the bone

This one is the most serieus of the bunch, yet a movie that is brilliant. It tells the story of a young woman, dealing with anorexia. She meets an unconventional doctor who challenges her to face her condition and embrace life. This movie is one that I find very realistic, it is not edited in a way that is unrealistic. With that being said I do want to give a trigger warning for this movie, only watch if you are perfectly fine with watching heavy topics and don’t get inspired or sad by it. It is an uplifting movie that has parts of romance in it, me personally thinks the romance was not needed. I loved the variety of people and different characters.
